Hi all, I have a 2007 Ford S-MAX with the TravelPilot NX DVD edition Sat Nav. Inside it has a Blaupunkt 2008 Update 2.0 DVD. I've upgraded the firmware to 5.3 and are continuing to use the 2008 DVD in there at the moment. I went to purchase this item and the seller is now refusing to ship on the grounds it's incompatible with my car. I gave him my VIN number to check. His listing shows a picture of the NX SD version and a 2003 edition but his item description explains it's a 2014 DVD edition for the TravelPilot NX.
I assume therefore the picture is simply a mistake. The description fits perfectly with what I need and I believe the fact it states it's for a Mondeo is not relevant. The crucial part is that it's a DVD for a Ford TravelPilot NX system. Also, would I have difficulty in going straight from 2008 - 2014 DVD. I read some problems with folk doing a 2007 DVD to 2014 and they suggested a 2009 DVD.
I don't have access to a 2009 unfortunately. Have I perhaps had a lucky escape here? Robin I've just done a 5.3 update on my NX when I try to load my tomtom 2014 it tries to load and then shuts down, did this happen with you?
Updated to 5.3 without issue but I used my 2008 Update 2 disk for week or so first. I didn't have the opportunity to try the 2014 version for the reasons I explained in another post. Perhaps I had a lucky escape and the supplier of the 2014 version were correct? I don't think so though. Htc desire hd stock rom zip download. I cannot believe the 2014 version would not work yet the 2013 works just fine. Have you tried repeating the upgrade putting the old version DVD in the system and letting the Nav software itself update.
What version of maps disk do you have?

If you do not have a number, you can also search for the name. However, searching for names or parts thereof may lead to multiple results!. It may be possible that not all documents are available for each product variant. In such cases you may try to find the information for another/similar product with the same name (e.g.
A regional product version). If you download a.zip file when looking for updates, unpack the file using suitable software and follow the steps described before starting the update. In most cases, software is required to view/open the data and documents found, e.g. Adobe Acrobat Viewer/Foxit Reader or a compression program such as WinZip/7Zip.
TomTom now supply upgrade maps on DVD for the Ford NX Travelpilot satnav system:- As can be seen, they are priced at £126 inc. VAT When you try to purchase the DVD you are advised to contact your nearest Ford dealer, as the DVD cannot be purchased directly from TomTom. When I contacted my local Ford Main dealer I was quoted £299 plus VAT ( £358.50 total) for the DVD Please note, this price was just to supply the DVD, not to install it. What is going on? Why the price hike?
Who is ever going to upgrade their navigation DVD regularly with this unfair purchasing procedure in place? The Ford dealer has the wrong information.

I had the same situation and raised it with TomTom, who forwarded my email to Ford UK and received a prompt response, where they confirmed the price of £126 inc. VAT and contacted my local dealer. If your dealer is still quoting the incorrect price then contact Ford UK. I have a 2007 Mondeo and the details for that are: Europe-Ford NX 2012 7 inch touch-screen (2007 Mondeo) Product id 309859 Code 974 DVD-rom 100% European cover The details may vary from vehicle to vehicle, but I doubt it. Does your Kuga have the Ford NX system, where TomTom are quoting £126 inc. VAT for the 2012 DVD? I suggest you start here, confirm the price online and then email TomTom support stating that you can't purchase it from your Ford dealer at the price shown.
This is exactly what I did and then got the following email from Accessory Marketing, Ford Customer Services Division: 'I regret to hear you are having issues with purchasing a map update for your vehicle through our dealer network. Earlier in the year we have made integrated satellite navigation map updates available to our dealers through a different channel, which reduced the price to customers significantly. Unfortunately it appears that the dealer you contacted is still unaware of this change. In order to help resolve this matter, I should be most grateful if you would kindly inform me which dealer has quoted a significantly higher price for your map update so that I may ensure they are made aware of their error.
If you would also be kind enough to provide me with the name of your preferred dealer, I will arrange for someone to contact you so that they may provide you with details of the lower cost product available from TomTom. I trust the above is a satisfactory course of action and look forward to hearing from you in due course'. This is the response I received today 'Hi this is Steve from TomTom Customer Support. Thanks for your recent online support request. The title='Click to follow link is a clearing house for locating map upgrades for kits that are not manufactured or sold by TomTom, but are designed for our map systems. The dealerships have worked out agreements in most cases were they are the point of sale for upgrades, and set their own prices which can vary between dealerships.
The prices on our website suggest the suggested retail price, but are not binding obligations for the dealers. I have spoken with management today who confirms the situation, and we can only recommend that you review the pricing with another dealer chain in your area. Thanks again for using TomTom Customer support, please don't hesitate to contact me with any further queries by replying to this email or by using the response link at the base of this email. With Kind Regards' I am waiting for my local dealer to get back to me.
Hi Vic, I did, but then I was going from the original 2007 map, supplied with the car, to 2012. Another feature that I didn't have before was the linking of traffic info to the map and route calculation and, on a more basic level, full 7 digit postcode which I didn't have before. I guess that the map update alone is only going to show up along routes where there have been changes, whilst the software update fixes and issues and posiibly adds new features, depending upon what version you came from. Regards Dave.
Target='blank' title='Tom Tom Maps I believe that the situation has changed and the maps can be obtained from here. Can anyone answer a couple of questions: a) I have a 58 (2008) Titanium X - is this the right software for me b) I am presuming the slot behind the volume fascia is the DVD slot for the maps. Does the CD slot also take DVDs? Does it play them? C) I don't seem to have a USB socket in the glovebox - is this optional?
D) Is there also a firmware update on the DVD? Vogomatix No the cd slot does not take the dvd. You will need your radio code to eject the dvd, which is behind the removable facia, take volume button of first, then remove facia. There is a very good video on YouTube of how to change the dvd. Firmware upgrade v5.3 is needed to fix 7 digit postcode entry for UK, it also fixes many other issues, a TSB exists for this and is on a number of forums. I believe that the 2013 DVD is the last one containing TMC (traffic message centre), I have been trying to find out why this has been ceased.
